Dr. Vivek Tank qualified from prestigious M. P. Shah medical college; Jamnagar; Gujarat in the year 2004.he then completed training in advanced surgery and endoscopy from Rajkot cancer hospital and apollo hospital Hyderabad. He received his diploma in minimal access surgery from World Laparoscopy hospital; New Delhi in 2008. He is one of the few surgeons who are well versed in Open; laparoscopy and endoscopic domains of surgery. Under the care of Dr. Vivek, patients undergo surgery and endoscopy at same place by the same surgeon.
Dr. Vivek is active in laparoscopic surgery of appendix; gall bladder stones and hernias. He is well versed in minimally invasive therapies of piles; anal fissure and anal fistulas. Most of the procedures are day care procedures i.e. the patient undergoes procedure and discharge from the hospital the same day. On the endoscopy side he has a rich experience of about 7500 procedures including therapeutic and advanced gastroscopy; colonoscopy; ERCP; Endosonography; third space procedures like POEM; ESR; ESD; etc. and bariatric endoscopy.
He has keen interest in G.I. motility studies; having a vast experience in performing and reporting HIGH RESOLUTION MANOMETRY AND 24 HOURS PH IMPEDANCE STUDIES. His major research interest includes translational application of capsule endoscopy in diagnosis of small bowel disease and spiral enteroscopy for therapeutics in small bowel disease. He is passionate about the application of robotics in basic GI surgeries and endoscopy.
He also has honor of being a privileged member of local and national professional societies. He has delivered several lectures and imparted trainings to fellow surgeons in various national medical conferences
